On Saturday the 20th Trey Anastasio and his crew brought their A game and tore up the State Theatre.  A friendly crowd and great venue made the show a great one!  Set one began with Last Tube and TAB decided to keep it friendly with a list of popular Trey tunes.  Second set was smoking right off the bat and built up to a stellar Mr. Completely and Black Dog. First Tube ended out the show. Take a look below for the video.

In a video just released on StringcheeseIncident.com we learn some new info about the summer dates planned by the cheese.  Looks like a block of dates at Red Rocks and a block at Horning’s Hideout in Oregon.

July 23,24, and 25 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.            Tickets

July 29,30, 31 and August 1 at Horning’s hideout in North Plains, OR.        Tickets

SCI Announces Summer 2010 Incidents!

This summer The String Cheese Incident will perform a handful of “Incidents” including their greatest hometown venue, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, on July 23, 24, and 25, and then set up camp at Horning’s Hideout on July 29 through August 1. This announcement ends a three-year break from performing; a hiatus interrupted only once – this past summer- when SCI united to headline ROTHBURY 2009 for one incredible Incident.

Since I keep getting asked, I will share what I’ve heard….

Not breaking news to the community, but it’s shareworthy.

6/1 Wrigley Field
6/3-4 Deer Creek
6/5-6 Alpine
6/11-12 SPAC

Looks like Chicago> Noblesville> East Troy> NY and that probably means Alpine will be the end of a leg and SPAC will be the beginning of the next one.

Keep in mind that Deer Creek can and will host concerts on weekdays as Phish phans know from past years.  Alpine Only schedules two night runs on either Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday.

We’ll keep you updated on any new info that arises.

Rothbury, the hottest festival of 2008 and 2009, will not be returning this summer. Rumors of financial troubles have been swirling, and another festival has seemingly become a casualty of the bad economy. Though they say they might return, I am not optimistic about the chances of any festival that takes a hiatus coming back.

Just posted on the Rothbury site…

During the past three years, all of us involved with ROTHBURY have greatly appreciated the tremendous outpouring of support for the future of the festival. For 2010, we have had to make the tough decision to postpone our efforts. A contributing factor in our decision is that, due to various artists’ recording and touring schedules, we now believe that timing will not allow for us to assemble the cutting edge roster that everyone has come to expect from ROTHBURY. The result for this year is that we are not able to move forward with the integrity and high standards that we demand from ourselves and for the festival.

Despite the 2010 postponement, we intend to move toward continuing ROTHBURY in 2011. This event is something very special, and we are unwilling to potentially tarnish what ROTHBURY is, and can become, by working under conditions that will produce anything less than a magical experience.

ROTHBURY is more than a festival. It is a mission intended to discover strength in community, and what it means to be a large-scale sustainable event in these times. Our efforts are certainly not coming to an end.

It is important for us to thank the people of Michigan, Oceana County, The Village of Rothbury, Grant Township, and the Double JJ Resort. Also, we thank our team members, volunteers, creative contributors, media partners, and sponsors. We have made many friendships that will last a lifetime.

To all who attended the first two years of ROTHBURY we thank you for the soul you gave the event. Those times entered rarified air because of your energy.

We hope you have a fantastic July 4th this summer.
